US-CT-Danbury/Bridgeport-Systems Support Specialist :.

Status: Full Time, Intern Salary: USD 29,000.00 to USD 35,000.00 per year

We are currently seeking a System Support Specialist to provide our valued customers with exceptional field service.

The System Support Specialist's responsibilities will include:

* On-site troubleshooting and repair of computer related issues at several client locations
* Insure efficient operation of computer and network infrastructures at client sites.
* Installation and repair of desktop and laptop computers.
* Manage and Administer Windows NT, Novell NetWare, Mac OS, Lotus Notes, MS Exchange and other systems.
* Regularly optimize computer systems, including upgrading network drivers on network clients, de-fragmenting hard drives, virus scans, etc. PCs and Mac.
* Perform computer upgrades and installations such as memory, drives, peripherals, etc.
* Administer tape back-up systems.
* Maintain logs and activity reports for services performed, etc.
* File server and computer maintenance/clean up/upgrades, etc.
* Recommend and purchase computer equipment.
* Investigate emerging technologies.
* Upgrade and maintain Virus definitions on all systems.
* Maintain remote connections such as WAN links and ability to troubleshoot connection problems.
* Working with different protocols including TCP/IP, IPX, AppleTalk, etc.
* Organize miscellaneous projects as they arise

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

* Minimum of 2 - 3 years of relevant work related experience in a support role
* Excellent communication skills
* The ability to work independently and juggle many simultaneous projects
* Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies including firewalls and connectivity issues
* In-depth knowledge of desktop related support issues
* A Bachelor's degree in IT is desired
